First-Time Setup
- Download GlucoFlow from the App Store
- Open the app - no account registration required!
- Set your preferences:
- Name (optional, stays on your device)
- Diabetes type (Type 1, Type 2, Gestational)
- Target glucose range (default: 70-180 mg/dL)
- Preferred unit (mg/dL or mmol/L)
- Add home screen widgets for lightning-fast logging
- Log your first reading using the + button or widget
Adding Widgets (Recommended)
How do I add GlucoFlow widgets to my home screen?
- Long press on your home screen until apps start wiggling
- Tap the "+" button in the top corner
- Search for "GlucoFlow" in the widget gallery
- Choose your preferred size:
- Small - Shows last reading and time
- Medium - Shows last reading + quick-log buttons
- Large - Shows reading, mini chart, and buttons
- Tap "Add Widget" and position it on your home screen

- Tap a template button on your widget
- Enter your glucose value
- Tap save - done in under 5 seconds!
From App:
- Tap the blue + button
- Enter value and select template

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Is my health data private and secure?
Absolutely! Your glucose readings are encrypted and stored only on your device. We don't collect, see, or share your health data. Optional iCloud sync uses your personal Apple account, not our servers.

Do I need to create an account?
No! GlucoFlow works without any account, registration, or personal information. Just download and start logging immediately.
What's the difference between free and premium features?
Free features: Unlimited glucose logging, 7 & 14-day charts, basic reports, all widgets
Premium features: 30 & 90-day date ranges, estimated HbA1c, professional PDF reports, unlimited annotations, priority support
How do I enable cloud sync?
- Go to Settings → iCloud Sync
- Toggle "Enable iCloud Sync"
- Sign in with your Apple ID when prompted
- Your data will sync across all your Apple devices
Note: Cloud sync is completely optional and uses your personal iCloud storage.
Can I export my data to share with my doctor?
Yes! Go to History → Export to generate PDF reports or CSV files. You have complete control over when and how you share your data.
How accurate is the estimated HbA1c calculation?
The estimated HbA1c uses the standard formula: eA1C (%) = (Average Glucose mg/dL + 46.7) / 28.7. This is an
estimate only and should not replace actual lab tests. Always consult your healthcare provider for official HbA1c testing.
What glucose ranges should I use?
Default ranges (Type 1 diabetes):
- Low: Below 70 mg/dL (3.9 mmol/L)
- Target: 70-180 mg/dL (3.9-10.0 mmol/L)
- High: Above 180 mg/dL (10.0 mmol/L)
Always consult your healthcare provider for personalized target ranges.
🔧 Troubleshooting
Widgets Not Updating
- Log a new glucose reading in the main app
- Wait 30 seconds for the widget to refresh
- If still not updated, remove and re-add the widget
- Restart your iPhone if the issue persists
- Check that you have the latest version of GlucoFlow
App Crashes or Won't Open
- Force close the app (double-tap home, swipe up on GlucoFlow)
- Restart your iPhone
- Update to the latest iOS version
- Update to the latest GlucoFlow version from App Store
- If issue persists, contact support with your iOS version
Cloud Sync Not Working
- Check your internet connection
- Verify you're signed into iCloud (Settings → Apple ID)
- Ensure iCloud Drive is enabled
- Toggle cloud sync off and on in GlucoFlow settings
- Wait a few minutes for sync to complete
Data Missing After Update
Don't worry! Your data is encrypted and stored locally. App updates don't delete your glucose readings. Try restarting the app or your device. If data is still missing, contact support immediately.
